Meet Andy
Thanks so much for using our website! Here’s a quick “Meet Andy” for those of you who don’t already know me. Let me start by saying that about 90% of my business comes from referral and repeat business. If you’re not part of that 90%, that’s ok! I hope to earn your trust and business!
All my past clients will tell you that I’m not into the “sales guy” high pressure thing. It’s just not my nature. My philosophy is this: I consult rather than sell. I try to only work with good people. And I really work hard to take care of them. Then everyone's happy! And as I work hard for my clients they usually introduce me to more good people they know. If I can help you, please call 801-565-0777 or email me at broker@forsaleutah.com.
If the “How did you get into real estate?” sounds boring you can skip to the bottom and see some pictures and interesting facts.

“How Did You Get Into Real Estate?”
I became a Realtor after graduating from BYU in 2002. My dream of joining an east coast business consulting firm fell flat on its face after September 11th changed the world. A major hiring freeze left me scrambling to rework my life plans. I didn’t want my newlywed wife to think me a total loser, so I quickly begged my way into a good real estate development internship for $10/hour…just to have a job! I found that I enjoyed real estate and felt like I should get my license when my internship ended.
So I became a Realtor…and found that I LOVED IT! My business consultant dreams all of the sudden seemed so boring compared to consulting with good people as they made some of their biggest life decisions. I learned that people simply wanted someone who would just work hard for them, know their stuff, and genuinely care.
It wasn’t a glamorous start. I think my first listing was a mobile home! But I did my best and earned the RE/MAX Results “2003 Rookie of the Year” award. The rest is history. Since then I’ve worked with a couple hundred clients on everything from small condos to mansions to commercial and land deals. I also own www.GreatRateUtah.com
Now, at the time of writing this article, I’m into my seventh year and have the fancy title of “Principal Broker.” But I still operate in the same way as when I started. All my clients work directly with me. I work hard and negotiate hard for my buyers. I give my sellers a good deal on commissions and work/negotiate hard for them too. Ultimately, I want to earn the privilege of being your real estate consultant for life.

Some Interesting Facts
ONE – Just one bitter little carrot – that’s all I have to show for the huge garden I planted this year! I guess “green thumb” is a learned trait.
TWO – My wife Melissa waited for two years while I served a mission in Saint Louis Missouri…certainly the best deal I’ve ever negotiated!
THREE – I have three cute little kids. And they're very young! I've learned that getting three kids into car seats is great training should you ever desire to try alligator wrestling. But I wouldn't trade these times for anything.
FOUR – I hit the slopes four times last season. It’s fun now that the kids can come...though they don’t appreciate “steep and deep” Utah powder like their Dad.
FIVE – The difficulty rating of my best rock climbing ascent in Big Cottonwood Canyon: 5.12b “Left Pile” in. As an unusually skinny teenager you can imagine my delight when I found rock climbing and gave up football!
SIX – The number of years we’ve lived in our home. You don’t understand what an accomplishment that is for me – I moved 18 times while growing up! No wonder I like real estate!
SEVEN – I’m the second of seven kids. How on earth did my amazing mom ever pull that off?
EIGHT – My favorite number. As a kindergartner my mom signed me up for my first soccer team. I desperately wanted that jersey #8 but the coach gave it to someone else – he and I never quite got along after that.
NINE – Number of months I tried to take piano lessons last year before learning that you actually have to practice DAILY to succeed. Maybe my New Year’s resolutions this year will include a second attempt…
TEN – An upcoming wedding anniversary. Melissa is insisting on something better this year. What’s wrong with dinner at our kitchen table with a fussy newborn baby at our side?
